In their first season under a new coach, the Monroe Mustangs women's volleyball team made many strides forward. They had an outstanding 29-4 record (the best in their history), were nationally-ranked (#15), have players who are
among the nation's leaders in aces, hitting efficiency, and digs, and played at a thrilling, confident style that energized their fans. But in the NJCAA Division II Women's Volleyball District L tournament held this past weekend in Randolph, NJ, they just couldn't get past Genesee Community College, falling to the Cougars in the final match 3-1.

11.5.11 | Women's Volleyball
The Monroe Mustangs women’s volleyball team had an up and down day in the NJCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball District L Tournament today in Randolph, NJ. In the morning they defeated the County College of Morris 3-0, but in the afternoon they lost 3-0 to Genesee Community College. As a result they must defeat CCM again Sunday morning at 10am in order to reach the finals of the double elimination tournament.

11.2.11 | Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball
Three nationally-ranked Monroe teams are travelling out this weekend to see if they can make their dreams come true in post-season tournaments. The #7-ranked women's soccer team will play in the NJCAA Division III Women's National Championships in Cortland, NY beginning on Thursday. #6-ranked Men's soccer will participate in the NJCAA Division I Men's Northeast District Championships at Burlington County College in Pemberton, NJ and the #15-ranked women's volleyball team will be at the County College of Morris in Randolph, NJ to play in the NJCAA Division II Women's District L Championships. At stake for men's soccer and women's volleyball is a trip to their national tournaments.

When news came earlier this week that the Monroe Mustangs women's soccer team had made the NJCAA national rankings, it confirmed that this is the most successful season Monroe ahtletics has ever known. The 11-1
men's soccer team has a #6 national ranking, the 27-2
women's voleyball team is at #15, and now the 11-0-1
women's soccer team is at #9. On their heels is the preason rankings of the
men's basketball team at #2 and the defending national champion
women's basketball team at #6. Also, for the fitst time, a Monroe Cross Country runner has
qualified for the national meet.
