The Monroe Mustangs indoor track team is enjoying a brilliant season on the track and also in the classsroom. Led by pole vaulter Francisco Javier Escobar and shot-putter Danzel Rolle, who both came up aces with 4.0 GPA's in their freshman semesters at Monroe, eleven other Mustangs achieved GPA scores of over 3.5 . In fact, the GPA average for the entire 45-member team is at 3.0.

When the race began Saturday afternoon in Hobbs, NM, Keyvin Adams established a new standard as the first Monroe Mustang to compete in NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. Out of the 354 other runners, representing 55 teams Keyvin finished 219th with a time of 32:06:59 and an average mile time of 6:15.5.

When news came earlier this week that the Monroe Mustangs women's soccer team had made the NJCAA national rankings, it confirmed that this is the most successful season Monroe ahtletics has ever known. The 11-1
men's soccer team has a #6 national ranking, the 27-2
women's voleyball team is at #15, and now the 11-0-1
women's soccer team is at #9. On their heels is the preason rankings of the
men's basketball team at #2 and the defending national champion
women's basketball team at #6. Also, for the fitst time, a Monroe Cross Country runner has
qualified for the national meet.
