New Rochelle NY- In their second game at the MAC (Monroe Athletic Complex) after playing nine straight on the road, the Monroe Mustangs women's basketball team proved on Thursday that they had not forgotten how to defend their home turf. Monroe defeated the Burlington CC Barons for the second time this season, by a final score of 63-58. With the win the Mustangs improved to 19-5 on the season and are 5-1 at home.

Orlando Sanchez has been a main attraction for NCAA Division I coaches from around the country and they have come in droves to see him play. Sanchez, an honorable-mention All-American, finished last season averaging 8.33 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. His total of 415 rebounds him ranked seventh in the NJCAA Division I. He also was third in blocked shots with 4.2 per game.

On Tuesday afternoon during WFAN's Mike Francesa show, the YES Network unveiled a profile of Monroe freshman forward/center
Maurice Ndour. 'Mo" was featured because of his love of basketball and his abilitiy to speak five different languages. Ndour, who hails from Senegal, went to school in Japan where he won a contest speaking Japanese. The YES Network also depicted his love of technology and, of course, basketball.

Boston, MA- This past weekend the Monroe indoor track and field teams traveled to Boston University and had their most successfull meet of the season. Cassie Griffith set a new indoor school record in the
200m dash breaking 26 seconds, finishing in 25.94. Cassie was 22nd out of 145 runners in the event. On the men's side, Tatvydas Kieras set a new school record in the men's shot put with a throw of 43' 93/4"
